Lynn Saxberg, Music Critic for The Ottawa Citizen has dubbed Scott as "Ottawa's funkiest Christian Rocker" Scott and his band have opened for Kirk Franklin, Peter Furler (former Newsboys front man), Building 429 and he has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Christian music during the 25TH anniversary of Kingdom Bound in Buffalo New York. His musical influences range from Stevie Wonder to Steeley Dan and everything in between. He blends funk, rock, blues and soul to create a unique brand of music that is guaranteed to get you up and grooving. He is a musician, singer / songwriter, worship leader and teacher who loves God and loves people.
His previous album "Sons of Light" received major radio support in Canada, the United States and Europe. Multiple hit singles including "One Church" and "Shine On" remainined on the charts for 26 weeks. On the encouragement of Brock Tozer, music director for CHRI 99.1 FM (Ottawa, Canada), Scott returned to the recording studio in August of 2011. He decided to work once again with two time producer of the year Andrew Horrocks. He brought in some of the top musicians and singers from the Canadian CCM. The CD was released on March 3, 2012. The all-star cast includes a horn section that has played with MOTOWN greats like Aretha Franklin and Billy Preston. Award winning keyboard player Mike Janzen brought his funky grooves to the mix and Scott's longtime lead guitarist Joel Williams has delivered amazing riffs once again. The new record "Freedom Train" also brings together a variety of singers who have lent their voices to this project like: Ali Matthews, Sean Dayton, Chris Bray, Dana Marie & Amy Savin. Colin Bernard who just finished releasing an album he made with renowned producer Ed Cash. The gospel trio of Rufus John, Natahsa John and Melissa Laguerre delivered a rich texture that screams MOTOWN! Rapper Prosper Laguerre rapped on the song "Forever Changed"
The first single "Forever Changed" was released to radio on Monday January 16, 2012 and is in heavy rotation in Canada, the U.S. and Europe! The CD Release concert was held at Bikers Church in Ottawa on Saturday March 3RD and the place was packed! In his home city of Ottawa Ontario "Forever Changed" just hit # 2!
Scott’s youth was filled with drugs, alcohol and women. He has survived severe trauma in his life and has been clean and sober for the past 23 years. With his wife Sherri and daughter Cheyenne by his side he is a devout follower of Christ and works hard to shine his light for the Kingdom.
